I have been meaning to start writing again for a long time. The galleries on this site do a lot of the talking, but a wedding day is more than the picture you ultimately hang on the wall. There is the way the morning light pours into a hotel room. The nervous laughter before the first look. The grandparent who quietly slips away to wipe their eyes during the vows. This is where I would like to share those things.
How I think about a wedding day
When a couple asks what my style is, I usually say something like: I am trying to make photographs you will still love in twenty years. That means leaning into honesty. Less posing, more noticing. Below is a pair of frames from a recent ceremony — the first is the moment everyone watches for, and the second is the one I cannot stop looking at.
A few details from the day
I love photographing the small things — the rings on a piece of family lace, the hand-tied bouquet drying in a window, the shoes lined up before the ceremony. They become the seasoning of the final gallery.
What to expect here
I will post when I have something worth saying — a wedding I cannot stop thinking about, a question I get asked a lot, a film I ran through the camera, a place I want you to know about. No schedule, no obligation. Just a journal.
If something here resonates, I would love to hear from you.
